Email: [email protected] Radcliffe On Trent Infant and Nursery School 03 December 2015 Dear Parents/Carers We were delighted that so many children in our school choir attended the “Christmas Food and Drink Festival” at the Grange Hall last Sunday. It was a wonderful start to the Christmas festivities and the choir sang beautifully. We have had so many positive comments about the singing and behaviour of our children and we are very proud of them. Well done! CHRISTMAS THEME DAY The children thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas Theme Day. They have been very creative and will have lots of festive decorations to bring home at the end of term. CHOIR AT THE MANOR HOME & TUDOR GRANGE Once again, our school choir will be singing some festive songs for the residents at the Manor Care Home and Tudor Grange on Thursday, 17 December in the morning. If you are able to help walk the children through the village, please let school reception know. We will be leaving school at approximately 09.30 am and should return back to school for approximately 11.45 am. MESSAGE FROM RAINS Just a reminder that RAINS will be holding their annual Christmas raffle at all of the forthcoming children’s Christmas performances, where a few hampers will be up for grabs so don’t forget to bring your purses/wallets!! Tickets will be £1 per strip. There will also be a retiring collection at the end of each performance. CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY On Thursday, 17 December we are inviting all pupils and staff to take part in Christmas Jumper day in aid of ‘Save The Children’. Everyone is invited to wear their silliest, sparkliest or cosiest Christmas woollies and make a donation of £1 or whatever they can give to help save children’s lives around the world. ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY As mentioned in last week’s Newsletter, we will be reporting on weekly attendance in school. NEWSTEAD ABBEY VISIT We are looking forward to the Year 2 visit to Newstead Abbey next Thursday. If you have not already sent in payment and a completed EV4 form please do so asap. Many thanks. BALANCE BIKE TRAINING Many thanks to the Road Safety Team from Nottinghamshire County Council for providing free ‘balance bike training’ for all children in Year 1 and F2 this week in school. The children have had great fun and a great time was had by all. CHOIR CHRISTMAS CAROL CONCERT The school choir Christmas carol concert will be on Tuesday, 15 December at St Mary’s Church. Children need to arrive no later than 5.45 pm, ready to start the concert at 6.00 pm. We would like all the children to wear party/smart clothes with Santa hats, bits of tinsel etc. All family members are welcome to attend. The more the merrier and audience participation may be required. Light refreshments will be provided by the RAINS team. CHRISTMAS LUNCH As part of the Festive Menu week, our children will be served a Christmas lunch next Wednesday, 09 December followed by luxury ice cream. NURSERY CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION As part of our festive celebrations, we have arranged for ‘Fizzy the Fairy’ to perform a magic show for the children in Nursery. ‘Fizzy’ will be in school on Monday, 14 December and will do a performance in the morning and again in the afternoon. We would like to ask for a contribution of £3.40 per child which needs to be sent into Nursery in a named envelope. LA JOLIE RONDE Today is the last session of La Jolie French lessons for this year. Lessons will resume on Thursday, 07 January 2016 from 3pm. CHRISTMAS PRODUCTIONS This week parents/carers of children in Key Stage One can request their tickets (Kingfisher/Owl/Badger/Hedgehog/Fox classes). If you would like tickets for one of the performances, please complete and return the pro forma or alternatively email the school office at [email protected] Please make the subject “Christmas Tickets” and include your child’s name and class. Tickets will be distributed the middle of next week. Finally, we had another great visit by the Fire Service. The children enjoyed finding out how to stay safe and had the opportunity explore the fire engine.
