The latter is interested in the prevention of waste production, management and recycling. Agriculture also and not negligibly “contributes” to waste production. Its share is constituted before all by packaging waste wherein plastic matters dominant. The quantities of such packaging such waste increase, year-by-year. Therefore, the objective of this year's plant health days is to make the both professional and general publics familiar with the concrete activities by Slovakian crop protection industry who respond to the general expectations how to better manage packaging waste. At the same time, the conference intends to draw the audience's attention to the requirements established in the newly adopted act on waste that shifts the responsibility for waste management to producers and importers based on the principles extended producer responsibility. The prevention of packaging waste formation and their following evaluation – recycling, belong to the fundamental prerequisites of requirements to preserve healthy life on the Earth and are one from the decisive factors in sustainable agriculture. At the plant health days positions and opinions concerning this issue by Slovak and foreign experts as well as questions and answers concerning the topical issues will be presented. Certainly, the protection of agricultural crops and forests plants will form inseparable part of the plant health days. Also posters will be presented at VI Slovak Plant Health Days. The first day of the Conference (20 October 2015) will dedicated to the core issue – packaging waste produced in agriculture. In course of the entire day, simultaneous interpreting between English and Slovak will be provided. On the second day, presentations concerning the protection of field crops and forest plants will be given. The presentations should be focused on the following issues: 1. Shifts in the spectra of harmful organisms in Slovakia (weeds, diseases, animal pests); 2. The most important harmful agents in agriculture and forestry in the light of the changes in their biology and resistance to plant protection products; 3. Free choice issues, i.e. topical issues welcome by practical agricultural and forestry On the both Conference days, floor will be given to not only Slovakian experts, but also to our guest speakers from the Czech Republic, Austria, France, Germany, Hungary, and European Crop Protection Association (ECPA) as well. Participants can discuss the issues also at poster presentations. As usually, the papers produced by no later than on 11 September 2015 will appear in the Conference Proceedings. Any information on practical and theoretical knowledge that develop the current plant protection science is welcome. The Conference organisers reserve themselves the right to determine order of individual papers within the agenda! Owing to organisational reasons, it is not feasible to fix lunch for those participants who will have failed to register bindingly themselves until 9 October 2015. Similarly, due to reasons of the Conference Centre capacity, we have to limit the number of participants to 100 persons. Accommodation: You can to book your accommodation individually in the accommodation facilities in Nitra (Agroinštitút Nitra, Mikado Hotel, and River Hotels are those most appropriate). Board: The Conference organisers will safeguard board for participants. Conference fee: No registration fee for participation.
