„PACKAGING WASTE IN AGRICULTURE
− HOW TO MANAGE THEM“
The focal point of VI Slovak Plant Health Days
The management of wastes is one from the most important needs of our
days that attracts the interest of general public. The latter is interested in
the prevention of waste production, management and recycling.
Agriculture also and not negligibly “contributes” to waste production. Its
share is constituted before all by packaging waste wherein plastic
matters dominant. The quantities of such packaging such waste increase,
year-by-year. Therefore, the objective of this year's plant health days is to
make the both professional and general publics familiar with the concrete
activities by Slovakian crop protection industry who respond to the
general expectations how to better manage packaging waste. At the same
time, the conference intends to draw the audience's attention to the
requirements established in the newly adopted act on waste that shifts the
responsibility for waste management to producers and importers based on
the principles extended producer responsibility. The prevention of
packaging waste formation and their following evaluation – recycling,
belong to the fundamental prerequisites of requirements to preserve
healthy life on the Earth and are one from the decisive factors in
sustainable agriculture. At the plant health days positions and opinions
concerning this issue by Slovak and foreign experts as well as questions
and answers concerning the topical issues will be presented. Certainly,
the protection of agricultural crops and forests plants will form
inseparable part of the plant health days.
Also posters will be presented at VI Slovak Plant Health Days.
