Advance Frequently Asked Questions Q: Why is it so important for me to complete the Roster Maintenance and Verification (RMV) Process? A: The RMV process gives teachers an opportunity to review and correct class roster information before Measures of Student Learning (MOSL) ratings are calculated by the NYCDOE. Completing the RMV process ensures that you are linked to the correct students in the Advance Web Application and that you will receive a MOSL subcomponent rating for Advance in the fall. Q: When can I expect to receive my final Measures of Teacher Practice (MOTP) subcomponent rating? A: Your MOTP subcomponent rating should be finalized by June 26 , at which point you will receive a print-out of the MOTP Final Summary Form for you to sign for your file. The MOTP Final Summary Form will include your MOTP score and corresponding MOTP subcomponent rating. As a reminder, MOTP scores and subcomponent ratings are not final until you receive and sign this form. In the fall, when MOSL scores are available, your MOTP subcomponent rating will be combined with your MOSL st subcomponent rating to calculate your Advance Overall Rating. Your Advance Overall Rating will be released by September 1 . Q: How will the Citywide Advance Student Survey Pilot affect my Advance Overall Rating for the 2014-15 school year? A: In short – it won’t. While the results of the Advance Student Survey Pilot will provide teachers with valuable student feedback regarding their instructional practice, the results will not be used when calculating teachers’ 2014-15 Advance Overall Ratings.
