• Empirical study with actual data collection (partial
or complete dataset)

Clinical Internship
• Minimum 14 weeks full time: in practice 4-6 months
(or 1 year, part-time, combined with research
internship)
• Gain experience with psychological assessment (200
hours) and treatment (320 hours)  GZ verklaring

• NO Minor thesis!

• For Dutch-speaking students to be able to get
admitted to the GZ opleiding (2-yr post-master
mental health psychology program; limited number
of places)
• BAPD: 200 hours of psychological assessment + 3
case reports; case reports have to be submitted to

Prepare: Step – by – step (1)
• Decide what you want to do first (research
internship (RI) or clinical internship (CI) and where
you would like to do it
• Read internship manuals on EleUM!
• Approach UM researcher or consult internship
coordinator if you have any questions

• For UM RI, find first supervisor and second assessor
UM
• External RI: first supervisor external (has to have
PhD; if not first supervisor has to be from UM),
second UM assessor
• For CI: select institution of interest. Write
application letter and prepare CV and consult Corine
or Kim for procedure

• Accepted? Fill out application form RI or CI
• Education Office will make up a contract
• Have all parties sign contract

• Within 4 weeks after start internship hand in
research proposal for RI
• Make sure both assessors grade this in time! It is
YOUR responsibility to make sure the EO gets all
assessments on time (remind your supervisors)
