1
Activate your
UTSA identity
If you have not already done so during
the application process, your first step
to enrolling is claiming your username,
which is called your myUTSA ID, to log
into ASAP (Automated Student Access
Program), your portal into almost
everything you’ll need to do at UTSA.
ASAP is the place where you keep your
personal information updated, register for
classes, view grades, order transcripts,
view your bill and many other functions.
TO DO: Check your email to activate your
myUTSA ID.
You should have received an email from
[email protected] with a link to
activate your ID, which is in the format of
three letters and numbers (abc123). You
will be asked to verify your identity before
activating your myUTSA ID. Once you have
activated your myUTSA ID, you will be able
to access ASAP and use its services.

Explore Housing
Options
Because of high demand for on-campus
housing, students are advised to apply
early. You will need your myUTSA ID to
apply for housing.
UTSA Owned and Managed
UTSA manages three on-campus
communities that house more than 2,298
students: San Saba Hall, Laurel Village and
Chaparral Village.
Campus Living Villages
Students can contract with Campus Living
Villages, a private company, to reside in
these on-campus communities: Chisholm
Hall and University Oaks.
TO DO: Apply for on-campus housing at
utsa.edu/housing and click “Apply Now.”
On-campus housing is not required
for freshmen, but research shows that
students living on campus are:
• more satisfied with their living
experience and college experience
• earn higher grades
• have a more satisfactory social life
• participate in more student activities
OFF-CAMPUS housing
There are also several apartment
complexes surrounding the UTSA campus
where students can choose nearby offcampus housing.

orientation registration website (ASAP).
Placement Tests
UTSA placement tests might be needed to
determine the level of class in which you
can initially enroll. Math and chemistry
both have UTSA-specific placement
tests that can be taken only on the UTSA
campus through UTSA Testing Services.
TO DO: Chemistry or math placement
tests are required to be taken prior to
