DESCRIPTION Energy meters DME series are enriched with 5 new models which are designed to complete the existing range in Lovato Electric catalog. The new models inherit some of the main features of the series. White backlit LCD display; Extremely compact housing; Rated voltage range for single-phase versions: 220-240VAC; Rated voltage range for three-phase versions: 380-415VAC (phase-phase); Multi-Measurement: in addition to active energy, other electrical quantities are available; High measurement accuracy (class 1 according to EN62053-21); Sealable terminal covers included in the package. Entry level single phase energy meter: DMED115T1, 2 modules (36mm), 40A DMED115T1 is a single phase energy meter measuring active energy and active power, with clearer interface (backlighted display in 2 modules) than the models in 1 module (18mm) housing. Single phase and 3-phase energy meters with built-in RS485 communication port: DMED121 and DMED320 DMED121 and DMED320 make the electrical quantities available through the RS485-2W serial communication port. Therefore the devices can be easily included in an existing network without the use of external converters. Single phase energy meter expandable with EXM series modules: DMED130 DMED130 supports EXM series expansion modules, confirming the general use of them in Lovato Electric product range. Digital inputs and outpus or communication ports can be added to increase the energy meter performances. Data concentrator for photovoltaic applications: DMECDPV1 All the powerful features of the data concentrator DMECD have been integrated with some functions typical of photovoltaic applications, where energy consumption, production and balance of the exchange between the producer and the utility are measured. The main features are summarized below. Produced energy counter input (1000 p/kWh), to be installed at DC/AC inverter output. Consumed energy counter input (1000 p/kWh), to be installed upstream the loads. Energy exchange with utility calculation, as difference between the counters above. Optional imported (purchased) energy counter input. “Self-consumed production” estimator (instantaneous and historical) with a range from 0% to 100%, that is the percentage of photovoltaic production directly consumed by the loads: o 0% → all the photovoltaic production is sent back to utility; o 100% → all the photovoltaic production is absorbed by the loads. 3/8 February 20th, 2014 LOVATO ELECTRIC SPA – Energy meters DME series “Autonomy from utility” estimator with a range from 0% to 100%, that is an indication about how much the photovoltaic plant is enough to supply all the loads: o 0% → all the load power requirement is covered by the utility; o 100% → all the load power requirement is covered by the photovoltaic plant . 2 outputs to manage the non priority loads or 1 output to give indication of exceeding of the power limit in the agreement with the utility. 1 input for alarms from the inverters. The connection between the energy meters, which can be single phase or 3-phase type, and data concentrator can be done through pulse transmission managed by all the meters equipped with the dedicated pulse output or directly connecting DMED121 or DMED320 to the built-in RS485 communication port. 4/8 February 20th, 2014 LOVATO ELECTRIC SPA – Energy meters DME series 2. CROSS REFERENCE The data concentrator for photovoltaic applications DMECDPV1 cannot be compared with products from competition. DMED115T1 is positioned exactly between DMED110T1 and DMED120T1. It is interesting to understand how the competition is positioned regarding models with built-in communication port or with optional expandability.
