Bikes Belong Coalition
As you know, we have a great Farmer’s Market
here in Sausalito! It happens every Friday
through the summer from 4 to 8 PM in the
Ferry Parking Lot, and it’s easy to get there by
foot or by bike. Transporting your produce by
bike is a breeze — use a basket, backpack,
panniers, or a trailer to get those fresh fruits
and vegetables, organic foods, and flowers
home in no time.
Do you feel passionate about biking, walking,
transit, and getting around Sausalito without
driving alone? Sausalito is a beautiful place to
walk and bike, and you can help make it even
better by becoming a Way to Go volunteer.
Way to Go volunteers are part of the
Way to Go team and encourage motorists,
pedestrians, cyclists, and transit riders to
travel safely together and share the road.
Activities include bike rides, walks, classes,
and appearing at community events.
Volunteers commit to a minimum of two
events during the Summer 2008 event season.
Selected Way to Go volunteer applicants
receive a 3-hour training on the information
and skills necessary to talk with the public
about all of Sausalito’s transportation options.
Additionally, volunteers get an official Way to
Go Sausalito t-shirt, a variety of walking,
biking, and transit incentives throughout the
summer, and an opportunity to expand their
knowledge and skills.
To apply for the Way to Go Volunteer
Program, or for more information, contact us at

President’s Challenge
“Ways to Go” to AT&T Park Events
Many Marin County residents are looking for ways to stay
healthy and active. Walking and biking are perfect ways
to fit enough exercise into busy daily lives, and logging
your trips can help you keep moving. One online resource
is the President’s Challenge, a six week physical activity
challenge (www.presidentschallenge.org). Once you create
a free account, you can log in and record your trips to meet
your goals and track your progress.
Get to games, concerts, and events at AT&T Park without
taking the car! Take your bike on the Sausalito ferry and
enjoy the easy ride down the Embarcadero from the Ferry
Building to the ballpark. Or simply park and ride the ferry
across the Bay. The park also has secure bike parking on
PortWalk, so you can bike home across the Golden Gate!
For more information on the ferry online, go to
