KURACTIVE 1.Activated carbon fabric KURACTIVE Kuractive is new activated carbon fabric developed by Kuraray Chemical noted for a leading integrated activated carbon manufacturer in Japan. Kuractive, made from special synthetic fiber comprising of three types, namely, fiber, felt, and cloth , has large variety of adsorption performance. By applying Kuractive, the compact equipments can be manufactured for various adsorption uses. Activated carbon fabric is the third activated carbon appeared next to granular and powdered type. Particularly, cloth type attracts attention for use as capacitor. Kuraray Chemical which is manufacturing Kuraray Coal (activated carbons made of coconut shell charcoal and coal), Kurasheet (activated carbon-impregnated urethane foam), and supplying “Kuractive”, has been consistently making efforts to develop superior products to meet diversified requirements from customers. In case of Kuractive, only specific micro pores are uniformly developed inside, resulting to extremely sharp distribution of pore size. ************************** Granular Activated Carbon Shaped Pore Image **************************** Activated carbon fabric “Kuractive” 3.Characteristics of KURACTIVE 1. Large surface area (800~2000m2/g) and high adsorption capacity. Kuractive has wide range of adsorption capacity and volume. 2. Optionally controlled pore size and volume. Pore of granular activated carbon are formed by macro pore, transitional pore, micro pore in the order of close to exterior. However, Kuractive is formed by developed micro pore directly to exterior, so it has advantage of sharp pore distribution. 3. Rapid adsorption and desorption speed. Kuractive have advantages not only adsorption speed, but also desorption speed. In particular about organic solvent, Kuractive is very effective as application of solvents recovery. Because Kuractive has characteristic to desorb the object with a temperature near its boiling point. 4. Remarkable molecular sieving effect. 5. Exceptionally high purity. Kuractive is also suited to liquid phase for the good reason that it is high-purity substance and has impurity like ash barely. Additionally, Kuractive has high resistance characteristic toward heat, acid and alkali. 6. Lower pressure drop. Kuractive don’t need much adsorption layer because of rapid adsorption speed. So you can set up equipment that has less pressure drop. --- Use application --*Air Purifier (for business use, for household use, for automobile equipment) *Water Purifier (for business use, for household use, for portable use) *Gas Mask, Chemical Agents Protective Suits *Adsorption of Radioactive Rare Gases in Nuclear Power Plants *Evaporation Loss Control Device of Automobiles *Solvent Recovery *Decolorization of Glucose, Sugar and Others *Refining of Intermediates of Chemicals *Deodorant for General Use (removal of odors in refrigerator, shoes and others) *Sanitary Goods (napkin, disper) *Separation and Refinery of Industrial Materials (removal of n-hexane from iso-octane, separation of benzene and cyclohexane etc.) * Capacitor electrode KURACTIVE FIBER TYPE (FR) Fiber(Tow form) Grade Molded Activated Carbon Fiber Packing (kg) FR-10 6.0 FR-15 8.9 FR-20 7.8 FR-25 7.0 * Each grade has chop type(random cut fiber) and tow type. * Packed by wet condition and above packing weight is converted dry based.
