SPONSORSHIP & EXHIBITION PROSPECTUS

GENERAL INFORMATION
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The 6th Conference of the Australasian Cognitive Neuroscience Society (ACNS) is being held from
24 – 27 November in Shoal Bay, Australia. This major national conference brings together leading
research groups for cognitive neuroscience research in Australia, New Zealand and the surrounding
regions.
The ACNS conference attracts 250-350 delegates who study the neural basis of human perception,
cognition and emotion, especially through brain imaging methodologies, including MRI, EEG, MEG,
TMS and psychophysics.
The conference encompasses both basic science and translational research that examines the
implications of our understanding of brain behaviour relationships on medical, educational, public
health and organisational practice. ACNS brings together researchers from diverse backgrounds, all
with a focus on the relationships between the brain, mind, and behaviour. It features pre-conference
workshops, keynote lectures, oral papers and poster presentations.
HOST ORGANISATION
ACNS is an academic society focused on the scientific study of the biological or brain foundations of
mental processes and behaviour. It welcomes members from disciplines such as psychology,
neuroscience, cognitive science, psychiatry, neurology, linguistics, computer science, and
philosophy, all with an interest in the relationships between the brain, mind, and behaviour.
The main purpose of the Society is to encourage and facilitate the exchange of knowledge, primarily
through conferences and workshops.
The ACNS was founded in 2012 and has now grown to a Society of over 300 members across
Australia, New Zealand, and Asia.
VENUE
The 6th Australasian Cognitive Neuroscience Society Conference is hosted by the University of
Newcastle and will be held at the Ramada Resort, Shoal Bay.
Located on the beachfront at Shoal Bay, the Ramada is located central to the Shoal Bay village, a
part of the larger Port Stephens and Hunter Valley areas.
The Ramada Resort is a family friendly beachfront resort, a radical but inviting contrast to the usual
inner city conference venues.
