Serious Service Cost-effective Leak Detection Reduce your CO2 loss and increase your profit - with leak detection Leak detection is the first step in ensuring that all your valuable CO2 ends up in your end-product instead of being lost into the atmosphere due to leakage somewhere in the piping. It is also a way to maintain the cost-effectiveness of your CO2 plant. We offer you the possibility of a full-system CO2 leak detection survey at regular intervals, using our proprietary quantification concept – the only one of its kind! Quantifying your savings The most challenging exercise is to quantify how much CO2 is lost through a leak. For estimating the exact amount of lost CO2, we have developed a CO2 quantification concept. Based on extensive empirical tests on a broad range of leak profiles - such as size, geometric ect., the ultrasound and corresponding flow rate are measured with an external flow transmitter. Saving money and CO2 During a line walk of your CO2 production and distribution system, our service engineer will identify any CO2 leaks using a hand-held ultrasonic device. All detected leaks are tagged and recorded, and a photo of the leak will be taken for later repair, based on recommendations from the final survey report. When combined with proper corrective actions, the concept will provide energy savings and also substantial reductions in CO2 loss, and a derived increase in your profit. Increased safety at you site Another benefit you gain from a leak detection is an increased safety level for your employees, as they will not be staying in a room with too high and thus harmful CO2 level A leak detection service audit includes: • Line walk of the CO2 plant and CO2 distribution system • Detection and tagging of leaks • Pressure level determination at measuring point • Quantification of flow per leak with tag no. reference in service report • Audit report with suggestions for corrective actions • Expected duration: 1 day union.dk Serious Service LEAK DETECTION IS A UNIQUE concept to reduce your CO2 loss BJARNE LARSEN rpm MANAGER uNION ENGINEERING An example for consideration Depending on local CO2 market prices, ordering a CO2 leak detection concept and implementing the necessary corrective actions can lead to substantial savings. Contact: [email protected] Tel.: +45 7620 7700 As an example, consider a consumption of 1,000 kg/hr plant. With a leakage of 5%, it means a loss of CO2 per day equal to 1,200 kg or 438 tonnes a year. With a CO2 cost of e.g. €120/t, you lose €52,560 every year. Please contact our Customer Service for further information. Leak detection can either be ordered as a stand-alone service, but you can also order it along with an annual on-site service agreement, which includes: • • • At least 2 annual service inspections by highly professional service engineers Maintenance, including compressor overhauls Staff training Further service programmes below.
