Dear Colleagues,
We invite you to participate in the International Conference of Young Scientists «Advances in Botany
and Ecology». The conference will be held 11-15 August 2009 in Kremenets Botanical Garden (Kremenets,
Ternopil Region, Ukraine).
The program of the Conference includes five sessions.

1. Phycology, mycology, bryology and lichenology.
2. Floristics and systematics of vascular plants.
3. Plant ecology and phytosociology.
4. Experimental botany.
5. History of plant science and ethnobotany.
In the course of the conference we plan to organize the workshops on phycology and geobotany
(phytosociology). Please note that these workshops will be held at the same time so participant can choose only
one workshop to attend.
The working languages of the conference are Ukrainian, Russian and English.

Participants of the conference are invited to fill in the Registration Form online (see our official website: www.botany-center.kiev.ua) and to submit the e-version of abstract(s) in a file. If an abstract has several
authors, all of them should fill in the registration form; however only the first (or presenting) author should
attach a file with the abstract.
Deadline for registration and abstract submission – 1 May 2009.
Confirmation of registration is sending by e-mail to all registered participants during 3 working days
after filling in the online registration form. If you don't receive the confirmation, please, contact the organizing
committee.

The abstract size shall not exceed one page. It must be typed in Microsoft Word (file in "doc" format).
The name of the file must be the same as the first author's surname (for example, Степаненко.doc if abstract is
in Ukrainian/Russian, or Stepanenko.doc if abstract is in English).
Page format – A4, margins 2 cm on all four sides, font Times New Roman, 12 pt, indentation 1,27 cm,
width fitted. Latin names of organisms should be italicized. NO tables, figures and/or diagrams are allowed.
Number of references not limited (the examples of literature citation see below). Literature in the text
must be cited in parentheses as (Author(s), Year).

Abstracts not corresponding to the recommended format or the topics of the conference will not be accepted.
In this case the registration fee will be refunded (with the exception of transfer cost).

The full registration fee is paid by every participant of the Conference (both first authors and
coauthors). Abstract publishing only requires one registration fee for one abstract (no matter how many authors
it has).
If you want to submit several abstracts, you need to pay extra fee (see the table above).
The fee for Abstract publishing only includes the cost of mailing one copy of the Book of Abstracts.
Registration fee does not cover hotel accommodations and lunches.
Registration fees must be paid by mail transfer before 1 May 2009. Please write your first and last
names on the blank and make a note «CONFERENCE FEE».
Participants from countries of NIS and all other countries pay registration fee in currency of their
country (Russian ruble, Belarusian ruble, euro or other) according to exchange rate of the National Bank of
Ukraine.
