acceptedorrejectedonline.
StudentswhoreceivethemaximumStudentLoanandPellGrantforthefallandspringsemestermay
notbeeligibleforLoansorPellduringthesummersessions.
Awards
PellGrantAwards,forsummer,arebasedontheamountoffundsstudentshaveremainingforthe
AcademicYear16-17.Studentswhohavefundsavailableareawardedbasedonhalf-timeenrollment
level(6-8hrs.)andwillbeadjustedbasedonactualenrollmenthours.*Somefundsrequirespecific
enrollmentlevelstomaintainthataward-seeGlossarysectionforspecificrequirements.
Becautiousinselectingyourclasses,failuretoenrollfortheproperhoursmayresultincancellationor
reductionoffundsawards.
FederalWorkStudyProgram
Studentsawardedwork-study(FWSP)mustcometoFinancialAidServicestogetplacement
information.
RepeatedCourses
ChangestoFinancialAidregulationswillprohibit,insomecases,paymentofpreviouslyrepeated
courses.Ruleswillpermitpaymentforretakingacourseunderthefollowingconditions.

Ifstudentearns/receivesnon-passinggrad(I,R,W,F)inacourse;thestudentmayretakethe
courseandcanbeincludedforpayment.
Ifthestudentpassesthecourse(“D”isconsideredpassing),thestudentmayretakethecourse
onetimetoimprovethegradeandcanbeincludedforpayment.
Anysubsequentrepetitionofapassedcoursemaynotbecountedforpayment.
Retakingcourseswillbecountedinevaluatingthestudent’srecordforSatisfactoryAcademic

DisbursementProcess/PaymentofTuitionandFees
ALLdisbursementsrequireanacceptedawardonfile(ontheWeb).Financialaidawardsmustbe
acceptedbycensusdateinordertocovertuitionandfees.Thestudentwillbedroppediftheawardis
notacceptedorpaymentisnotmade.Ifyoureceiveanawardemailandhaveacceptedtheawards
priortoorduringregistration,grants,loans(seebelowforloans)andscholarshipsmaybeusedtocover
yourtuitionandfees,uptotheamountofyoureligibility.Ifyoureceiveanawardemailafter
registrationcontactFinancialAidServicesfortheexpecteddisbursementdates(seeSummer2017
DisbursementSchedule).
Loanshaveveryspecificrequirementsbeforebeingdisbursed.Instructionsanddetailedinformation
canbefoundatSummer2017DirectStudentLoanBorrowersInstructions.Shouldyounotcomply
withspecificrequirements,theloanwillbecanceledandyoumayowemoneytotheCollege.
BookStoreCharging

books/suppliesattheDMCBookstoreoncampus.

ChangeinEnrollment/CompleteWithdrawal
Ifchangesinenrollmentoccurbeforethe4thclassday,PellGrantisrecalculatedinaccordancewiththe
scheduledeligibilityforthatenrollmentstatusandstudentsmayowefundsbacktotheprogramorto
DelMarCollege.Thisincludesclassesthataredroppedduetotheclassbeingcanceledorclassesthat
cannotbecoveredduetobeingrepeatedcourses.
LoanRecipients:Ifyoudropbelowthreesemesterhoursduringthesummerterm,youmustcomplete
anexitinterview.Aholdwillbeplacedonyourrecordsuntilthisrequirementismet.
WARNING:Studentswhocompletelywithdrawduringthefirst60%ofthesemesterorwhofailtoearna
passinggradeinclassesenrolledwillhaveaReturnofTitleIVFundsformulaappliedtotheiraccount.
Thisformulashowswhatyouhaveearnedforthetimeperiodyouwereenrolled.Anyunearnedportion
mustbereturnedtotheFederalFinancialAidPrograms.
Whatdoesthismean?ShouldastudentwithdrawfromDelMarCollegeatanytimewithinthefirst60%
ofthesemesterorfailtoearnapassinggradeinallcoursesenrolledforwhilereceivingfederalfunds,
thestudentwillowemoneybacktothefederalprogramsand/ortoDelMarCollege.Beforebeginning
thewithdrawalprocessordecidetonolongerattendclasses,talktoafinancialaidrepresentative.
NOTE:Ifyoufailtoearnapassinggradeinatleastonecourse,adeterminationwillbemadetoseeif
youearnedallthefundsdisbursedtoyou.Shouldyoustopattendingclasseswithoutnotifyinganyone,
yourinstructorwillreportthelastdateyouattendedclass.Thatdatewillbeusedtodetermineiffunds
areowed.
