





Learn a range of poems of by heart. Begin to identify simple words and
phrases to describe what they can see, hear, feel, smell and taste.
Make adventurous word choices and use adjectives in sentences. Write a
poem.
Answer questions on an unfamiliar text.
Continue to use full stops, capital letters, question marks and exclamation
marks accurately.
Begin to identify and use adverbs.
Recognise and use apostrophes to show possession (Alice’s book) and
contracted words (I’m, she’s).
What we will learn about in Mathematics?






Count in steps of 2, 3 and 5 from 0 and in tens from any number, forward
and back. Begin to understand zero as a place holder. Use place value
and number facts to solve problems.
Know that fractions are linked to sharing and find fractions of lengths,
quantities, sets of objects and shapes.
Solve problems with addition and subtraction.
Know that multiplication is the opposite of division and use this to check
my answers. Connect the 2, 5 and 10 multiplication tables to each other.
Connect the 10 multiplication table to place value and the 5
multiplication table to the divisions on a clock. Continue to recognise
doubles and halves. Count in 3s and begin to learn the multiples of 3.
Estimate and measure length/height (m/cm); mass (kg/g); capacity
(litres/ml). Tell and write the time to five minutes, including quarter
past/to the hour
Identify and describe the properties of 2-D shapes, including the number
of sides and line symmetry in a vertical line. Identify and describe the
properties of 3-D shapes, including the number of edges, vertices and
faces.
Ask questions to decide if something is living, dead or has
never been alive.

Local Church: Books

Talk about my feelings towards different books and wonder about the
importance of books in my life. Know that the Bible is a special book
that is split into the New and Old Testament and recall some of the
stories in the Bible. Talk about how the Gospels are used by the parish
family.
Eucharist: Thanksgiving

Talk about my experiences of giving thanks and wonder how other feel
when they are thanked. Retell the story of the Last Supper and use words
and phrases from the Eucharist Mass to show how Catholics give thanks
to God.
Lent/Easter: Opportunities

Say what we feel about using opportunities to do good things. Know
some religious stories linked to Lent, Holy Week and Easter. Describe
some ways that Christians use Lent to find ways of helping others.
