General Education Curriculum
Concordia University’s General Education curriculum is designed to engage students in the
foundational areas of knowledge in higher education – the “liberal arts.” These areas of
knowledge are reflected in the subject matter areas required. General education courses also
develop and cultivate the skills and values reflective of Concordia’s mission and purpose, which
are outlined in the University Outcomes. The University Outcomes are embedded in courses
throughout the curriculum and are skills and values required in any intellectual or professional
