A meeting of the Lake District Local Access Forum will be held on
Monday 28 January 2008 at 2.30 pm at The Hydro Hotel, Bowness–on-Windermere.
Members to be in attendance from 2.00 pm.
There will also be a pre-Forum workshop beginning at 1.00pm.

Forum members to declare their interests in relation to specific items on the agenda, in
accordance with the Forum’s agreed protocol.
3 MINUTES (paper attached)
To confirm the minutes of the meeting held on 29 October 2007.
4 MATTERS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES
To consider matters arising from the minutes not included on the Agenda.
5 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
To receive any questions from the public which have been submitted by 23 January
2008.
6 THE LOCAL ACCESS FORUM: SELF-EVALUATION (papers attached)
To receive and consider a report on the results and conclusion of the Forum’s selfevaluation for 2007.
7 RESPONDING TO PROPOSALS FOR CHANGES TO RIGHTS OF WAY (paper
attached)
a) To receive a presentation on the relevant factors that can be taken into account
when determining changes to rights of way
b) To receive and consider a report on how the Forum coordinates its response to
proposed changes to rights of way.
c) To receive and consider the Forums response to proposed diversion at
Lowthwaite, Matterdale.
8 BETTER ACCESS FOR ALL(paper attached)
To receive and consider a report on the landscape impact of works in the upland
environment aimed at improving access for people with limited mobility.

9 CUMBRIA COUNTRYSIDE ACCESS PARTNERSHIP (papers attached)
a) To agree the Forum’s role and representation on the Cumbria Countryside
Access Partnership Board, including response to the pre-meeting training
session.
b) To agree the Forum’s representatives for the three Cumbria Countryside
Partnership Task Groups.
c) To receive an oral update on the work of the three Cumbria Countryside Access
Partnership Task Groups (Task Group minutes are attached).
10 1980 HIGHWAYS ACT – LIST OF STREETS (paper attached)
To receive and consider the Forum’s response to questions posed by the British Horse
Society on the list of streets.
11 ACCESS MANAGEMENT GRANT SCHEME (paper attached)
To receive and consider a report on the continuation of the Access Management Grant
Scheme
12 WATERMILLOCK WOODLAND PROPOSALS (paper attached)
To receive and consider the Forum’s response to woodland proposals at Watermillock
