We lost additional trees as a result of the EF-1 tornado event on August 2 nd. In addition we will be addressing some failure in the last batch of trees delivered last season; that nursery is no longer in business. The Village has been working with several nurseries for quotes on the increased number of trees needed. As more municipalities are replacing trees due to the Emerald Ash Borer and recent storm damages, trees are in high demand. We will be sticking to our protocol of planting diversified native species that also perform well as parkway trees. The Village may only get half the trees planted this fall with the remainder being done in spring. There is a possibility that all tree planting will take place in the spring. Please be assured that all trees will be replaced and our goal is to insure healthy and appropriate tree species. Thank you for your patience on this matter.
