Three cheers for progress! One Team One Voice high school all-star team members
“getting their build on”.
A group of 20 high school all-stars, representing Orlando
Bowen’s One Team One Voice youth leadership group, have
been doing their bit to improve lives in Brampton.
Bowen, a former Canadian Football League player, chose
20 young people (aged 14 to 18) based on their community
work to participate in 10 days of activities beginning last
Wednesday. The group included 12 from Brampton, as well
as others from Toronto and London and even two from Chicago.
Sponsorships and fundraising covered the costs for the
all-stars. One of their first stops was last Thursday, where the
all-stars assisted Habitat for Humanity in the construction of
homes at 8600 Torbram Rd., where they did their part despite
a heavy downpour.
On Friday, the students served breakfast and met with
homeless and underserved people in downtown Brampton. Members of Orlando Bowen’s One Team One Voice

ticipating in an Amazing Race-type game, along with other
fun activities in downtown Brampton.
On Sunday, they were in Toronto for a tour the Rogers
Centre before watching the Toronto Argos take on the Ottawa
RedBlacks in a CFL contest.
After that game, they boarded a bus to Muskoka Woods
where they will be staying and participating in activities until
tomorrow.
