Ready for H2O-Camp

CHILDREN WHO HAVE ATTENDED THE H20-CAMP SAY, AMONG OTHER THINGS:
It is great fun and you also play while you learn to swim ...
Ready for H2O-Camp
We have 'driven' each other around in an ambulance - in the water ...
I learn a whole lot because I can remember things better when I am in the water so often ...
I am soooo hungry; where is my packed lunch?
Read more about H2O-Camp on the Municipality's website.
Kind regards,
Helsingør Swimming Club and the schools in Helsingør Municipality
- Helsingør Municipality's school swimming
You are about to attend H2O-Camp with your class. The school will tell you exactly when
it will start. We have gathered some information about H2O-Camp in this folder. If there
are things you would like to know about which are not mentioned in the folder, you should
ask the contact person who will be with you at the camp.
• H2O-Camp is Helsingør Municipality's school swimming
• H2O-Camp is two weeks' of instruction. Helsingør Swimming Club provides the
instruction in swimming
• H2O-Camp is organised so the pupils are given instruction for the entire school week as part of a blue band and a green band
The instructions will take place at Helsingør indoor swimming pool and at Villa Fem,
which is a recreation club close to the indoor swimming pool. The pupils will be given
swimming instructions in two sessions, each lasting one hour, in the water every day for
the entire week. For the remainder of the day, the pupils will have tuition at Villa Fem
and at the school in academic themes with the focal point being water, the body, bathing
safety and life-saving. The teaching in the green band will be performed by pedagogic
personnel from the pupils' own school. The pupil will meet up at the school every day and
finish the day at the same place.
A DAY AT H2O-CAMP
Every week, four classes will participate in the camp. Each class will have a pedagogic
staff member from the school along with them, so you will know the adult. The pupils
will be given swimming instruction for two sessions lasting one hour each and in between
there will be classes at Villa Fem where they will be taught by the school's personnel.

What have I learned?
WE NEED TO KNOW - WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT WATER?
We would like to give you as good instructions as possible and we do not want to spend
time on finding out about the things we can ask you already now. Therefore, we would ask
you to complete and hand in the attached questionnaire to your class teacher within two
days, at the latest. If we have not received your questionnaire, you will be given instructions
in the shallow end in the blue swimming station as this will be the safest for you.
BRING ALONG THE FOLLOWING WITH YOU TO THE CAMP EVERY DAY!
• Swimwear
• Two towels
• Swimming goggles
• Two lunch packs, a small one for the morning and an ordinary one for lunch
• One piece of fruit/juice
BLUE SWIMMING STATION
The pupil does not have knowledge of swimming or the swimming pool.
The pupil may perhaps have his or her head under water. Blue swimming
station is at a water depth of between 1 and 10 metres.
• A drinking bottle
• A plastic bag for your wet swimwear
• Clean clothes to swim in on the Thursday
Remember, the more close-fitting the swimwear is,
the easier it is to float in the water and learn to swim.
Drinking water is available at the indoor swimming pool
YELLOW SWIMMING STATION
The pupil is used to the swimming pool or swimming at the beach. The pupil
must feel that it is okay to have his or her head underwater and must be able
to swim about 12 metres (a half length). It is okay to use a float. Yellow
swimming station is at a water depth of between 1.10 and 1.30 metres.
and at Villa Fem.
Everyone must wear a swimming cap and these can be borrowed at the camp.
THE TUITION IS SPLIT INTO:
THE BLUE BAND, WHICH IS THE SWIMMING INSTRUCTION
THE GREEN BAND, WHICH IS ALL OTHER TUITION
GREEN SWIMMING STATION
The pupil has attended swimming instruction and can swim minimum 25
metres (one length) in a correctly combined style in deep water. Green
swimming station is at the deep-end.
