Installing the VPN-klient
1. Go to https://vpn.nih.no
2. The logon page for the portal should pop up.
Write your username and password at the school as shown below:
3. This page should now be showing:
It is unnecessary to save your password here. Choose "Not for this site" in the lower right corner.
Choose the download link that matches your operating system. Most Windows users have a 64
bit OS. If you choose the wrong one you will get an error message (no harm done).
4. You should then see a page looking something like this - choose "Run":
5. The setup program will start - choose "Next":
6. Just leave the default values as is and click "Next":
7. Click "Next" to confirm:
8. After a while this page should come up. Click "Close":
9. The client will start automatically. In the field for Portal write vpn.nih.no:
At some point during the installation you may be asked to accept a certificate for vpn.nih.no.
Confirm this.
10. The following login page should pop up.
In the field portal write: vpn.nih.no (if it isn't already filled out). Enter your username and
password for the school in the same way as stage 2:
11. If everything has gone correctly you should get a page looking like this:
The following icons show the client and if it is connected or not:
