The raw ore is milled to create a fine powder. Visual and spectrophotometer tests are conducted on each lot to maximize consistency and quality. Natural Red J3121 is manufactured for use in coatings, primers, colorants, plastics, paper, adhesives and rubber. It meets ASTM C979‐82 standards for pigments used in cement. Natural Red J3121 is color‐stable in processing temperatures up to 1000°C (1832°F). It is not recommended for use in packaging or articles that come in contact with food (21CFR), nor for the direct coloration of food or cosmetics. All Rockwood Natural Iron Oxides are processed under strict QC and environmental controls for reliable and consistent quality, stable under exposure to sunlight and UV radiation and are alkali, chemical and weather resistant. Natural Red J3121 is packaged in 25 kg multiwall paper bags and shrink‐wrapped onto pallets of 1100 kgs. Uses: Paint, rubber, colorants, wood stain, adhesives, ink, concrete, stucco, and plaster.
