Brief Information of Hyundai ix35 Fuel Cell Footage Collection [About Hyundai ix35(Tucson) Fuel Cell] Hyundai Motor is the first automaker to begin mass production of a hydrogen-powered vehicle, ix35 Fuel Cell. The first complete car rolled off the assembly line in early 2013. Currently, Hyundai Motor sells the ix35 Fuel Cell in more than 15 countries in Europe, North America and Australia as well as Korea. Two hydrogen storage tanks, with a total capacity of 5.6 kg, enable the vehicle to travel more than 400 km (NEDC Standard in EU : 594km / EPA Standard in U.S. : 265 miles / Korea : 415km) on a single charge. Hyundai Motor is the only company that produces its eco-friendly vehicle from molten iron raw materials to the finished car. Inside the video footage the entire process of Research and Development – Production – Hydrogen Fuel Production is included to show Hyundai Motor’s technology, production and fuel supply synergies. <Eco-Technology Research Institute in Mabuk> The eco-friendly focused R&D center of Hyundai Motor in Korea which was built in 2005 develops fuel cell technology that is adapted in the ix35 Fuel Cell vehicle. The assembly and car convoy at the Ulsan plant is included in the footage collection. <Hyundai Steel> In addition to R&D and production, Hyundai Motor produces synergy within the Fuel Cell vehicle business as the company’s affiliate Hyundai Steel can produce hydrogen. Hyundai Steel, located in Dangjin, Korea, produces steel sheets that are used to manufacture Hyundai vehicles. In addition, hydrogen is extracted from the residual gas from the steel mill production process. The hydrogen extraction plant of Hyundai Steel is described in the footage collection showing an in-line process from R&D and production to fuel supply.
