Rachel Am/AZ History 2 Korean War Football Game Welcome folks! The most exciting game of the year is about to start today, June 25 th, 1950! Our two teams playing today are South Korea and North Korea; neighbor rivalries! Ever since World War Two ended there have been separations between countries. South Korea has been recruiting the United Nations while North Korea has been recruiting China and the Soviet Union. This is about to be a great game folks, let us begin! North Korea is starting out strong with Joseph Stalin as their head coach leading them to what seems to be a touchdown! South Korea looks like they are planning to attack back with Harry Truman as their head coach and General Douglas MacArthur as their co-coach. With South Korea’s team lacking players from North Korea’s invasion on the first few plays the head coach substitutes them for players from the United Nations. Things are looking good for the South Korean team now that their “secret weapons” are in! South Korea now has the advantage over North Korea and continues to push down the field closer to the end zone. Touchdown South Korea!! After some rough plays for the North Korean’s their owner of the team, Kim II-Sung orders the head coach to substitute the injured players for the healthy China team members. Too late for Kim II-Sung though because South Korea has scored yet another touchdown and a field goal! Now North Korea has possession of the ball and both teams are going at it. The fans are going wild over this intense game and the coaches are having trouble keeping up. Truman and MacArthur have been caught going at it a few times this game over some simple mistakes. General Matthew Ridgeway and President Eisenhower also seem to be awaiting their turns to coach the South Korean team. A whole half has already gone by folks and the game is pretty close! The teams are continuing to score back and forth during this third quarter! Leading into the third quarter is our new set of coaches for the South Koreans! Not much has changed folks, both teams are at a tie right now and there are only minutes left to go. South Korea has possession of the ball, will it be another touchdown? Nope!! North Korea receives the kick-off return and makes it thirty yards before the alarm sounds and the receiver is tackled! Our final score is 42-42. There has been a tie and will not be any over time, both teams are too damaged to go on. Well that was some game folks! Thanks for coming out!
