Garnock Academy Open Night
Garnock Academy is moving to a new building which will open in January 2017.
The new building will encompass an Early Years Provision, Primary School,
Secondary School and community leisure facilities. We are using the new name
for the School already which is Garnock Community Campus. To mark the end
of the use of the old Garnock Academy building after 44 years, the school will
be hosting an Open Night on Tuesday 13th of December from 18:00 to 19:30.
This will begin in the Assembly Hall of the old building and will eventually move
on to include an opportunity to tour the building. We would like to take this
opportunity to invite any members of the community, former pupils, former
staff or other parties who have been interested in the life of the school to join
us and take the opportunity to reflect on the journey the school has made
since 1972. There will be guest speakers, music, refreshments and the chance
to see the school one last time before our move to the new building in January.
There will also be a display of old photographs and artefacts, including the time
capsule which is due to be retrieved soon after having been buried for 31
years. If there are any photographs you would be interested in having copies of
on the evening, this can be arranged on the night. We would ask that anyone
interested in attending, notify the school office with their name, size of party
and a contact telephone number. Please contact the school office on 01505
682685. We look forward to seeing as many old colleagues, former pupils,
members of the community and previous school partners as can make the
event.
