Developing our shared Vision and Mission
Downing Street Group Practice 12/09/15
Thank you all for attending and being part of this event. We had twenty two people present
and there seemed to be lots of noise, energy and involvement. We divided into three groups
and each group had the same task of coming up with a vision and mission. There was an
initial presentation before hand and I have attached the slides. In brief; The Vision is an
optimistic long view statement of what we are trying to achieve over the next ten plus years
and The Mission is what the organisation will try to do to achieve this.
It was very refreshing to see that all the tables came out with similar themes and I have
written down the final statements below.

The Mission Statements we created
1. To provide our community with efficient accessible and comprehensive healthcare.
For this to be tailored to patients, families and carers and includes education,
prevention and collaborative care.
2. We are a highly trained professional team, aiming to deliver the best possible
healthcare for our patients. We will provide this through education, selfmanagement, and thoughtful understanding of individual needs. We will listen with
respect and act in kindness.
3. Our patients will access outstanding care, which is responsive to their needs. We will
listen to our patients and help them achieve their health goals

A further meeting was held on the 9th November and vision and mission statements were
agreed as follows:

We will do this whilst listening with respect and acting in kindness.
