How to Succeed Costumes
Male Actors:
1. Complete business suit w/ white dress shirt, tie, dark socks, dark
colored dress shoes or black jazz shoes. Also all need to carry a small
black comb in their pocket.
J. Biggley:
1. As Above but has a matching vest to go with suit and also wears a
light blue bow tie.
2. Funky golf outfit
Finch:
First Act:
1. Janitorial outfit for beginning of show to fit over his business suit.
3. Business suit has dark or gray pants with plaid jacket and bow tie
4. Mail room Apron with “World Wide Wicket” Emblem on front.
Second Act: A suit with same colored jacket and vest with light blue bow
tie
Mr. Twimble: As above with Full apron with “World
Wicket” Emblem on front.
Wide
Mr. Womper: Same as Bigley dark suit with vest, light blue bow tie, dark
socks, dress shoes.
Bud Frump:
1. As above for men.
2. Mailroom Apron.
3. First Act wears apron over shirt and tie but no Jacket.
4. Once he gets promoted he wears jacket.
5. Thick rimmed black glasses.
Policeman:
1. Police Jacket with badge and police hat and baton.
Female Actors: (The theatre will purchase the Paris original Dresses)
1. Depending on how many girls in the cast all will need 2 dresses of the vintage 1960’s
style. One MUST be completely matching the others can be different colors. We can try
renting or…
Examples: For Matching dresses for the
number “Paris Original” this dress can
be made by the same people that made
our costumes for “Christmas Carol” for
about $60.00 – it would come with a pill
box hat as well.
This dress can be made for the second dress
for about $40.00…I would use all 4 styles
but several different colors as shown to
create a cohesive feel.
Rosemary:
As above but will need small sweater as well. Small period purse, white gloves

Needs Paris original Dress
Needs small fur stole or short fur jacket
Pirate Costume for contest.
Period Purse with white gloves and small powder compact inside.
Silk Robe and towel for hair.
Miss Krumholtz:
Will need a small matching jacket to go with her dress …she does NOT need a Paris
original dress.
Scrubwomen: Will need a “worn” looking dress with long apron and mop cap in
addition to the above. (I think we can get all this from the costume room).
TV Announcer: Will need a small sweater or jacket to go over her dress.
Mrs. Jones: Need more of a business suit dress , also needs Paris original
