Irish Dancing by Saoirse Dillon
At school we are learning Irish dancing. Irish
dancing is fun but it can be tiring sometimes. My
favourite dance Louise taught us was the threehand. Louise showed us really cool music. It was
so funny. I love Irish dancing and all the other
boys and girls in Boston N.S. also enjoy Irish
Dancing.
Green Schools Flag by Saoirse Dillon
We got our first ever Green Flag. Moya and I got
to go and collect it. The presentation was on in
Galway City .We were first on the list because our
school starts with B. While we were there we got
to play giant snakes and ladders, we also saw a
big boot made out of recyclable material and got
to watch a video about cycle to school week.
After that we went
home. We were
very tired after
getting out of the
car. It was a great
day and we are
very proud to have
received the Green Flag for our school.
Write a Book Competition by Nathan Cooney
In school we entered the write a book
competition. The write a book competition
means you have to write a really good book.
Whoever has the best book wins a prize. In my
school Saoirse, Liam and Gabrielly won. They
received a medal and a book for their hard work.
Everyone else in the school got a certificate for
taking part. It was
really good being
involved in it and we
all had lots of fun
writing our very own
books.
Marine Education Centre by Nathan Cooney
Nóirín came to our school from the Marine
Education Programme. We learned how pipes get
rid of the dirt from the sea. We were divided into
four groups. We all made a filter to clean dirty
water. Two groups did the same thing. They put
in cotton wool, stones and a coffee filter. These
two groups got the cleanest water. In the end
three groups
had
clean
water. It was
fun carrying
out
this
experiment
and
we
learned about
the importance of keeping our oceans and seas
clean. Nóirín gave us all a certificate for taking
part in the Marine Education Programme.
Planting by Gustavo Martins Baiao
On Wednesday the 25th of May we planted spuds,

brought it to the
plants so we could
water them. After

are
looking forward to seeing our vegetables grow.

Ireland should stay in the Europe or leave the EU.
After all the facts the jury decided to stay in the
European Parliament. Then we showed Seán our
projects about the EU. We also brought foods
from other countries in the EU such as pizza,
pasta, Belgium chocolates, bread rolls and lots
more. We really enjoyed the day and have

some of mine and brought the rest home for my
mum. My mum loved the cookies.
