Tennis balls to The Gambia Dave Adams who looks after the tennis balls at the Club was approached by a teacher at All Saints School in Fleet to ask if we could supply any tennis balls for children in Gambia. Dave gave them 100 used tennis balls which were no longer any use to us but were gratefully received . This thank you and the photographs are from the teacher at All Saints School in Fleet who goes to The Gambia each year. “I managed to squeeze all the tennis balls you gave us into my luggage! I was able to distribute them to four villages in The Gambia. Three of the villages are traditional villages – mud and straw huts, very poor and miles from anywhere. We take clothes and stationary too but the tennis balls went down very well with the children! Most of the photos were taken at the scout lodge we stay at. I gave the balls out on the first day and saw them being played with all over town throughout the week. A few tennis rackets appeared too from the scouts store cupboard. So thank you for your donation, if you have any more by next February I’d love to take some.”
