different. In the center circle, write things
that are alike. Summarize the differences and

3.How Does Water Affect Plant Growth?
In your group, plant your 2 Eco Plant Pals. One
Eco Plant Pal should be planted with tap water
and the other with distilled water. Place in a
windowsill and allow sprouting to occur after 7 to
10 days. How do the 2 plants differ? How does
water affect plant growth?
4.How Does Light Affect Plant Growth?
In your group, plant your 2 Eco Plant Pals. Water
one of the pots with some water (careful not to
over water) and place in a warm sunny spot. Do
not water the second pot and place it in a cool
dark place. Leave the Eco Plant Pals for a few
days and watch to see what happens to each pot.
How has the Eco Plant Pal in the cool dark place
progressed? How has the Eco Plant Pal in the
sunny spot progressed? Observe and record your
observations. Discuss the possible reasons for the
outcome of each Eco Plant Pal with your group.
5.Food Coloring
Add a couple drops of food coloring to a cup of
water. Plant your Eco Plant Pal and water with
the colored water. Place your pot in a sunny
windowsill and after 7 to 10 days observe the
plant. What happened? Discuss your results with
your group.
