Summer Term
Our topics for this term are based around the children’s interests. Information regarding our
theme and planned activities are displayed on the notice board in the corridor. Children are
welcome to bring in items relating to our themes to show at circle time.
September 2017 Sessions
Please fill in the form attached with your session requirements for September 2017 and
return to Pre school by Friday 12th May. From September 2017 the government is planning
to offer working parents 30 hours of free childcare to eligible families. We are currently
gathering information from parents and the Northamptonshire county council to enable us
plan for the future. We are asking parents to go onto either the government website
www.gov.uk and search 30 hours free childcare eligibility or
www.Northamptonshire.gov.uk/30hourschildcare to see if you will be eligible and to complete
this information on the session from attached. Parents/carer’s will receive confirmation of
their child’s chosen sessions w/c 15th May. Please be aware our session fees will be
increasing to cover costs to £11.00 per session from September 2017.
Policy of the month
We have a comprehensive set of policies and procedures that Bizzy Bears follows. To
familiarise parents/carers with our policies this term we shall be focusing on one policy per
month. This month it is our Equality and Diversity policy. We have also reviewed and
amended our Child Protection, Intimate care, Administering medicine, Behaviour
management, No Smoking and Special educational needs Policy. A copy of this policy is
displayed on the parents notice board in the corridor, in the policy book in the changing room
and on our website. We can also email parents a copy if requested.
Exciting news
We are very pleased to be able to share with you the news that Colleen, red group
key person is expecting a baby in late August. Colleen will be sharing her news with
the children over the next week. We are also welcoming back Suzanne who will be returning
to Bizzy Bears to provide staff cover as Laura will be absent due to health reasons for the
month of May. Suzanne is a level 3 Nursery nurse who has worked as staff cover at Bizzy
Bears over the past few years.
Summer trip Thursday 15th June
You have chosen Gulliver’s land near Milton Keynes as our destination for this year’s
summer trip. All families are welcome to join us. Gulliver’s is a theme park which caters for
younger children. There are a wide variety of rides many designed for under 5’s, an indoor
interactive play area, an adventure maze, indoor forest ball crawl and lots more attractions.
You can view Gulliver’s at: www.gulliversfun.co.uk/miltonkeynes. We will be traveling to
Gulliver’s land by coach, leaving from Bizzy Bears at 9.30am prompt. The coach is a 70
seater 3 point belt coach (booster seats can be taken, we cannot guarantee any other type
of car seats fitting due to smaller coach seats.). We will return to Bizzy Bears for
approximately 2.45pm leaving Gulliver’s at 2.00pm.
Spaces are still available. Please speak to a member of staff if you did not receive a letter
with more information. Invoices for those families who have already showed an interest are
attached.
Main hall gate
Please can we ask that parents/carers do not open/close the gate without a member of staff
being aware so that we can ensure the children’s safety at all times . Thank you
Lunch boxes
Please can we remind parents that children need to bring a drink in their packed lunch and a
cool block in the warm weather as we are unable to refrigerate all packed lunches. We
would also ask that all grapes, strawberries and cucumber pieces be cut in half as these can
be choking hazards when eaten whole. Thank you
Sun Safety
When the weather begins to turn warmer! please can all children bring in a sun hat and a
named bottle of sun cream. Please can we also ask that you apply sun cream to your child
before coming to pre school and we will top it up as required. The children enjoy being
outside in the warmer weather but we do limit the time they are out when the weather
becomes particularly warm and extra drinks are supplied.
Billing Annual Summer Fayre
Bizzy Bears will once again be at this years Billing Annual Fayre on Saturday 24th June here
at the pavilion. As our “Teddy tombola” was so successful at the previous Fayre we would
welcome donations of unwanted soft toys for this years stall.
Please come along and see us on the day here at the playing field, as well as our tombola
we will have lots of fun activities for everyone. Any money we raise will go towards our Pre
school fun day in July.
