Radio remote control based on the KISS concept
WMS WebControl makes operation safe and easy
The KISS concept states that for any task, the simplest possible solution should always
be chosen. Warema has put this rule of simplicity into practice with its new operation
system for sun shading products and light using WMS receivers. "Keep it simple and
safe" was the key motto guiding the development of the WMS WebControl. The system
enables secure operation via a free app or web browser.
The only step required to commission this compact new component from the WMS product
family is the connection to a WLAN router using a LAN cable. Operation over the user's own
home WLAN network is then possible directly from any device that has a web browser – no
internet connection required! To call up the user interface, simply enter the keyword
"WebControl" in the address bar of any browser. A free app for mobile devices such as
smartphones is also available from the sunlight management expert Warema. In addition to the
installation, Warema has also applied the concept of simplicity to the design of the WebControl

user interface. The system includes only the most important functions and is therefore very
straightforward. First, the specific area, e.g. living room or patio, is selected on the left side of
the user interface. Next, all available units with WMS receivers, such as roller shutters,
external venetian blinds or patio awnings, are displayed on the right side. Each integrated
product can then be controlled separately from within the operating range of the WLAN
network. For example, users can retract an awning or adjust the slat angle on external
venetian blinds to allow more daylight to enter the room. Unlike other similar systems, Warema
has intentionally omitted an active internet connection in WebControl, making safety and
privacy protection the main focus. By doing so, the risk of virus attacks, user profile tracking
and other forms of data misuse is eliminated, since no servers are required. Not only does the
operation of units via internet lead to gaps in security, there is also no need for such a feature
in this intelligent new WMS system. Its standard automatic functions control the sun shading
products in accordance with the needs of each individual situation, even when users are away.
In addition to the control by hand or wall-mounted transmitter, Warema's WebControl system
offers an added WMS-integrated operation alternative that is smart and convenient and can be
retrofitted at any time with little effort.

The Warema Mobile System (WMS)
The Warema Mobile System (WMS) offers a large number of trend-setting and future-proof features.
Its
components function as both transmitters and receivers, and an optical display on each transmitter acknowledges
executed move commands. All system components can transmit information to devices located farther away – an
intelligent routing function that significantly increases the operating range. The system uses a 2.4 GHz transmission
frequency and 128-bit encryption. This makes it impossible for third parties to penetrate the network and operate
connected units. WMS is especially well suited for retrofitting existing units, since the work required for both wiring
and installation is virtually non-existent. Additional sun shading control systems and other building features, such as
light and motor-operated windows, can always be integrated into the radio network as needed.
