Expression of Interest (EOI) should be completed and submitted to [email protected] by 9.00am
Monday 3rd October 2016 stating “Enhanced Detector Paper 2016” in the subject box. A separate
EOI needs to be submitted for each PhD study that is being proposed.
Please additionally send a hard copy of the front page only to:
Direct Procurement Solutions Team, Commercial Services & IP, Bldg 005, Dstl Porton, Salisbury,
Wiltshire, SP4 0JQ marking the envelope “Enhanced Detector Paper 2016”
The EOI is a mandatory part of the application process.
Within this submission the applicant is required to provide the following:
• A title (10 words max)
•
An abstract (100 words max)
•
A description of the proposed PhD project (2 pages max)
The deadline for the electronic submission of the EOI is 9.00am Monday 3rd October 2016, which is
mandatory for those institutions that wish to submit a final application. Depending on the number of
submission received, Dstl may review these EOIs and then request a selection of applicants to submit
a full proposal. Those invited to submit full proposals will be informed on Friday 17th October 2016.
If you do not hear from us within this period then you should assume that, unfortunately, on this
occasion you have been unsuccessful.

As part of the description please also provide (within the 2 page limit):
• Brief details of two previously funded research projects (industry, research councils, or other
funding body) that fall into one or more of the research areas detailed above. Where
appropriate, highlight the novelty of the work and provide details of funding body.

A list of 5 publications in the areas of responsive materials, with particular attention given to
the list of technical areas described above.
•
Brief biographical detail for the PI(s).
