9-Spline 5mm Wide Sprocket Base
Gates Carbon Drive announces a change to our 9-Spline rear sprocket line. All new 9Spline rear sprockets will come with a wider 5mm mounting base. This change in width
allows for a stronger sprocket, but also spreads the load through a larger bearing surface,
which is better when used in combination with aluminum freehub bodies.
This will be a running change. When inventory levels of the old design are depleted, the
new sprockets will become available.
The extra width is added to the outboard side of the sprocket so that the spacer stack from
the freehub to the sprocket does not need to be changed. Spacers outboard of the
sprocket will have to be adjusted.
