EU/Palestinian government share the EU-MED connection fees
Government to build - FO based- Academic Network with full
governmental support for 2 years to cover the local running costs,
Local telecommunication company PALTEL provides favorable
agreement to facilitate the network implementation
Current Situation







Availability of EU-MED connection with a bandwidth capacity
of 155Mbps
12 Universities connected to the Internet through different
service providers (only 2 universities has access to the EU-MED)
Reached an agreement for FO based Governmental network
Reached an agreement for FO based Academic network
Content and Service Delivery Schools Network is under
implementation
Connection to Consortium of Arab Mediterranean Research
and Education Networks (CAMREN) is finding its way for
implementation
Working towards ICT market liberalization
