provisional data
The trend of industrial production remains positive.
Indices of industrial production, Slovenia, January 2015
The value of industrial production in January 2015 increased. Total turnover also higher due
to turnover from non-domestic market, more precisely from the euro area. In 2014 labour productivity
in industry was 1.8% higher than in 2013.
The trend of industrial production is positive
In January 2015 the value of industrial production also increased. Positive trend is from mid-2013 and in the
last few months the growth is more noticeable.
In comparison with the previous month, in January 2015 the value of industrial production increased by
4.1%. In mining and quarrying it increased by 18.5%, in electricity, gas and steam supply by 5.3% and in
manufacturing by 2.6%. In manufacturing the increase was highest in manufacture of other transport
equipment, that is by 44.6% (original data).
The value of industrial production increased in all main industrial groupings as well, in production of capital
goods industries the most (compared to the previous month by 7.3%).
Turnover in industry in January 2015 increased, in mining and quarrying the most
In comparison with the previous month, in January 2015 turnover increased by 0.4%; in mining and quarrying
by 9% and in manufacturing by 0.3%. Original data show this is due to growth of non-domestic turnover,
more precisely euro-area turnover. Non-domestic turnover increased by 4.7% while domestic turnover fell by
6%.
The value of stocks of industrial products also increased
Like the value of industrial production and turnover in January 2015 the value of stocks increased as well.
Compared to the previous month, it increased by 1.5% but at the same time it was 0.2% lower than in
January 2014. On general, stocks have steady movement which depends on the individual activity. In
January 2015 in comparison with December 2014 stocks increased the most in manufacture of motor
vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, that is by 14.9% (original data).
In 2014 labour productivity in industry was 1.8% higher than in 2013 and 7.2% higher than in 2010.
Labour productivity in industry is calculated based on the data on the value of industrial production and the
data on persons in employment.
Detailed data on industrial production indices for January 2015 will be published on 30 March 2015 on
the SI-STAT Data Portal on SURS’s website.

Methodological note
For seasonal adjustment of time series for the value of industrial production, turnover and value of stocks
time series models were carefully revised and, if necessary, completed, taking into account the period from
January 2005 on and for value of stocks from January 2004 on. Revisions in seasonal adjustment results are
possible.
Data which are compared to those of the previous month are seasonally adjusted.
Data which are compared to those of the same month or of the same period of the previous year are working
day adjusted.
Data for the current month which are compared to the 2010 average are seasonally adjusted.
Data for 2014 are provisional. Final data for 2014 will be published not later than 10 August 2015.
