California Proposition 65 Statement
June 10, 2014
Proposition 65 is a California law that has been in effect since 1986 to promote clean drinking
water and keep toxic substances that can cause cancer and birth defects out of consumer
products. Proposition 65’s formal title is ‘The Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act
of 1986. It is administered by Cal/EPA’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment
(OEHHA).
Of the more than 700 substances found on the Prop 65 List, Positronic Industries, Inc. products
may contain beryllium, cadmium, nickel, and lead in metallic form; hexavalent chromium as
a sealer, and/or antimony oxide as an additive to enhance flame retardant capabilities. These
materials and concentrations are in compliance with EU REACh, RoHS and WEEE directives.
However, due to the nature of our products which are used almost exclusively in long-life,
durable goods such as military/aerospace equipment, industrial equipment, high-end telecom
equipment and the like, there is no reasonable expectation that our products containing the
above mentioned substances would be released into the environment and subsequently found to
contaminate the California water supply. Our products are not intended for personal use by the
general public or in products intended for home use nor are the components of our connectors
assembled or handled by workers in California unless a California company has that specific
requirement.
Positronic Industries, Inc. is committed to providing value and satisfaction in all our products.
