Overview
What is the difference between AVG Email Archive and AVG
Email Archive Lite?
AVG Email Archive provides businesses with a complete, searchable email archive
with full email continuity during local email server outages and rapid retrieval of
emails that have been deleted locally. It is a searchable knowledgebase of a
company’s intellectual property stored in email, and a rapid means of responding to
discovery requests for legal proceedings. AVG Email Archive is an indefinite and
unlimited archive that will allow for importing stored messages on Exchange as well
as archiving internal messages.
AVG Email Archive Lite is a 60-day rolling archive. Internal messages are not
stored in the archive, and it is not meant for compliance. It does, however, allow
for a user to send/receive should there be an interruption of mail service on their
local server. It will also allow for a user to search and retrieve messages within the
60 days.

Configuration
How do I upload email from Exchange into AVG Email Archive?
AVG Email Archive has a second component called ExchangeSync for customers or
solution providers who have Exchange. ExchangeSync can be installed on any
Exchange server or PC with Administrative access to Exchange. ExchangeSync can
be downloaded from our Support & Utilities page.
ExchangeSync requires a license key, where do I get one?
ExchangeSync does in fact require a license key. To receive a key, please email
[email protected] and we will email you a license key that can
be used for all implementations under your solution provider account.
Once ExchangeSync completes the One-Time Backup, can I
uninstall?
While not recommended ExchangeSync can be uninstalled after the One-time
backup completes. We recommend that after the completion of the One-time
backup you stop all syncs and leave ExchangeSync installed should you need to
perform a future One-Time backup on a new user or corrupt mailbox.
How can I archive internal email?
Yes, we can create a custom journal contact that can be created on the server and
configured to capture internal mail. ExchangeSync can also be used to capture
internal mail
How do I import email from a PST file into AVG Email Archive?
You will first need to convert the PST Files into EML Files.PST to EML exporting
requires a special converter here’s what we recommend:
http://download.cnet.com/Exporter-for-Outlook/3000-2369_410698808.html?tag=mncol;
The software is $12, but it is well worth it in our opinion and works great based on
other partner feedback.
Can I configure one user to have access to another user’s
archived email?
Yes, when AVG Email Archive is enabled an administrator account
([email protected]) is automatically configured and has
“Administrator” privileges within AVG Email Archive.
To access AVG Email Archive using the postmaster account – click on users –
located/click on the postmaster user – user options – Password.
Once you have logged in as the postmaster, you will complete the company
configuration and have Administration access to assign other users within your
domain Administrative privileges.
