…and our personal challenges…
All come from the same root cause…
“Our inner lives are something we ignore at
our own peril, and many of the greatest
problems we face in today's world are the
result of such neglect.
The fundamental problem, I believe, is that
at every level we are giving too much
attention to the external, material aspects of
life while neglecting moral ethics and inner
values.”
-His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama
‘A mind is like a parachute. It doesn't
work if it is not open.’
― Frank Zappa
The single biggest problem
our civilization faces...
...Closed Minds
A lack of understanding about the nature and power of our minds —— a fundamental
misapprehension of who we really are.
What if?
Modern science
and ancient
wisdom fused
into a new science
of the mind?
We built spaces
designed to train us all in
a contemporary version
of ancient contemplative
practice?
Healthy, open minds
were as common as
mobile phones?
Introducing…
The Open Mind Study
(OM)
Open Minds, New Possibilities
The Open Mind Study is…
(OM )
the world’s first empirical study of consciousness that
integrates contemplative practices with ground-breaking
scientific research on the nature and potentials of the mind.
(OM)
The Open Mind Study | Open Mind Centers
(OM)
Our global network of Open Mind Centers focuses on scientific study and empirical
research on the nature of consciousness; professional training for contemplatives of all
backgrounds; public outreach through conferences, lectures and other events. As part
of the Open Mind Retreats program, we offer weekend and 8 week retreats at our
Open Mind Centers.
As part of our Open Mind Training program, we offer secular and cross disciplinary
training, around business, education, health and sport at our Open Mind Centers.
The Open Mind Study | Open Mind Observatories
(OM)
(OM)
Open Mind Observatories are dedicated spaces for serious long-term meditation, for
months or even years, investigating the origins, nature and potentials of consciousness.
These spaces will, for the first time, provide contemplatives with access to affordable,
specially designed spaces for contemplative study. Income from the short-term retreat
programs at the Open Mind Centers will be used in part to subsidize the offerings for
our long term retreats.
As part of our Open Mind Training program, at our Open Mind Observatories we offer
PhD-level professional training for contemplatives, who will engage in collaborative
research with scientists.
Open Mind Centers | A Global Open Mind Network

All the centers will be part of the Open Mind Network: connected through purpose, events,
infrastructure and jointly contributing to the empirical research of the Open Mind Study itself
