Farewell to Nurse Pam
I will sadly be leaving Torkard Hill for personal
reasons after 27 years with the practice. There
have been considerable changes over the years
with the developing role of the practice nurse and
the pressure these changes bring.
I started in 1990 as one of the first practice
nurses. The surgery was then based at Hucknall
Health Centre. I remember Dr Hannah and the
other doctors very proudly showing me in my
interview the plans for the new surgery they were
having built which is Torkard Hill Medical Centre
where we are based now.
Over the years the nursing team has grown and we now have 4 practice nurses and
in addition are supported with 3 healthcare assistants.
I shall miss my work at the surgery and the contact with the patients many of
whom I've known for several years.
