1. STAFF RECRUITMENT PROCEDURES

Every member of the staff and volunteers of the School have
received DBS and two references before they work at the
School?

The School has a Staff Disciplinary Policy that receives the
approval of the Governing Body annually.
iii. The Head / Manager / Chairman of the Governing Body knows
that they should be using the 'Step By Step Guide' in dealing
with allegations against members of staff.
a. It is not the role of the Head / Manager / Chairman of
the Governing Body to conduct an investigation - that
decision is to be taken during the Strategy Meeting
discussions between the Police and the Care,
Protection and Lifestyle Services.
b. Is the Head / Manager / Chairman of the Governing
Body aware that they should immediately discuss the
allegation with the Nominated Child Protection Officer,
Learning Services?
c. Are you making a Referral to the Contact Centre, Care
Protection and Lifestyle Services, have you sent a
copy to the Nominated CP Officer, Learning Services?
d. Is the Head / Manager aware that they must inform the
Chairman of the Governing Body, prepare a report and
attend a Multi Agency Strategy Meeting?
2. CHILD PROTECTION POLICY

5. Training

Chairman of the Governing Body and at least two members of
staff received Level 2 inter-agency Child Protection training
every three years in accordance with Local Safeguarding
Board (LSCB) good practice? In Secondary Schools, it is
good practice for heads of year also to be trained at level 2
Child Protection.
Has every other member of the school staff received Level 1
Child Protection training during the last three years in line with
LSCB good practice?

Does the Designated Teacher Child Protection ensure that
every allegation of bullying that meets the criteria set out in
the Anti-Bullying Policy is investigated, and recorded on the

Does the school report back to the Governing Body on a
termly basis with regard to incidents / allegations of bullying

Is there a mechanism in school to enable pupils to report any
concerns they may have eg suggestion box / worry box,

8.Supervising Pupils
i. The Head is confident that there is appropriate supervision at
break times and lunch break at school?

9. STAFF CONDUCT
There is a reference in the ' School Staff Handbook' to the fact
that ALL the staff at the school (those teaching and nonteaching, alike) behave in a professional manner in terms of
contact with pupils - eg use of mobile phones, internet contact.
There is specific reference to the school's policy with regard to
contact with pupils by staff through social networking sites and
the like. (See GTCW Guidelines, Appendix E )
A copy of the Child Protection Audit will be distributed to the Governing Body so that it
can be placed on the agenda for the Autumn Term Meeting.The headteacher will be
expected to give a full up to date report with regard to the situation within the school at
the time.
