Automated Oxygen Control System for Gas-Fired Boilers
Optimized fuel:air ratios in gas-fired boilers yield a measurable excess oxygen
content in flue gas.
Utilizing this concept and the enabling technology of Lumec’s IRISvalve™, the Automated
Oxygen Control System (AOCS) manages excess oxygen to a user-defined setpoint for highly
efficient combustion.
The AOCS is a stand-alone, closed-loop control system that measures flue gas excess oxygen
and constantly adjusts fuel flow to achieve a user-selectable setpoint. The AOCS control valve
installs in a boiler’s existing gas train and does not require changes to the operating and safety
control systems.
Lumec’s breakthrough AOCS technology makes it possible to increase burner efficiency in
boilers much smaller than previously thought economically feasible.
