Universal Curated and To The Trade
More High Point Introductions
HIGH POINT, N.C., June 15, 2017– Some High Point markets are so full of product, it’s
hard to talk about them all. Spring 2017 Market was exactly that for Universal Furniture,
which in addition to Postscript, also introduced more than 20 pieces for its Curated
collection and added more exclusive designer only products to its Universal To The
Trade program.
Curated
As the name implies, Curated is a collection of casegood and upholstered furnishings in
various styles and finishes that all work together. Originally introduced in the fall of
2015, it’s become a best seller. This season’s introductions include entertainment,
dining and upholstery.
“Curated continues to be a must see for customers when visiting Universal,” said
Director of Marketing Neil MacKenzie. “It’s a story and an assortment that is on trend for
retailer partners and helps to reinforce our emerging upholstery and leather seating
options which provide high style in affordable offerings.”
Farley Sofa
This 87-inch faux slipcover, two-over-two sofa most closely resembles a tuxedo style,
with irresistible, sink-in, down cushions. The split arm cover with contrasting underskirt
uses frog enclosures as a feminine detail. Covered in a 50/50 cotton linen blend that’s
cleanable.
Ingram Dining Table
Ingram possesses the allure of a boat-shaped table with a mango veneer top and solid
poplar base. A light Mango Pango finish on the top is contrasted with a dark After
Midnight finish on the base.
Ainsley Dining Table
This 92-inch-long rectangular table is supported by a metal base in a stylized hourglass
shape. It features a mango veneered top in a light Mango Pango finish with a Brushed
Bronze finished base.

Darcy Entertainment Cabinet
Bisque finished louvered doors front a cobalt black, four-piece base cabinet. These
rolling panels open and close on a barn door track. When doors are closed, two
bookcases with adjustable shelving can be seen. When the louvered doors open
completely, they cover the bookcases to reveal a center entertainment section with
space for a 70-inch television.
Belmont Dining Chair
After midnight finish with a curved back and distinctly Danish influence.
Universal to the Trade
Universal’s new selections to its designer-only program are imbued with glamour and
shine. Five select case pieces, wrapped in German silver or brass, made a huge impact
on designers during the April market. German silver—an alloy of copper, nickel and
zinc—is applied by hand to hand-carved reclaimed teak or mango wood. Variations in
pieces are expected due to the handmade nature of the product.
Radiance Console
Brass covered demilune with two doors. The front features carved overlapping circles
that create a wedding ring pattern, often seen in quilting. Star-shaped door knobs.
Flock of Seagulls Credenza
Designers were inspired by a KLM lounge in Europe to create this unique credenza.
The silver wrapped case piece features hand carved birds in flight.
Odyssey Armoire
The 88-inch-high armoire features the same wedding ring pattern as the demilune, only
this time in silver with additional hand-punched pattern inside the carved rings. The
imposing doors are fully wrapped in German silver and open to reveal shelving and a
wardrobe bar.
Universal To The Trade offers an exclusive collection of home furnishings specifically
crafted for the interior design professional. Products ship in an average of 14 days from
warehouses in North Carolina. Universal offers easy shipping and payment options, and
single items can be purchased online via credit card.
