Press Release Doha, April 2nd, 2015 QATAR LADIES TOUR 2015: TOURIST OUTINGS FOR PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN PLAYERS Downloads - Royalty-free press content: Photos & videos of players enjoying activities © Qatar Tourism Authority / Paris Saint-Germain The Paris Saint-Germain women’s football team, which has been training in Qatar since March 29, took a well-deserved break to explore several national landmarks around Qatar- the club's official destination. Hosted by Qatar Tourism Authority, the sightseeing excursion and cultural activities are also an excellent way to build team spirit. On Tuesday and Wednesday, after intense morning training sessions, the players went out to discover the treasures of Qatar: After Monday’s trip in the desert, Tuesday’s landscape was quite changing! Ann-Katrin Berger, Laure Boulleau, Kenza Dali, Ouleye Sarr and Caroline Seger explored the natural mangrove forest at Al Thakhira, one of Qatar's hidden treasures, and spent the afternoon kayaking in turquoise water to discover Qatari nature. A good way to test everyone at the paddling game – well earned by Ann-Katrin Berger and Caroline Seger! Meanwhile, Linda Bresonik, Shirley Cruz, Aurélie Kaci, Sara Gama, Josephine Henning and Jessica Houara were visiting the cultural village of Katara, Qatar's artistic hub featuring a variety of arts from the Arab world. Located by the sea, Katara also offers a wide array of aquatic activities. After a pedal boat ride along the beach, the girls took a guided tour of the village's main cultural attractions, before wrapping up their afternoon with a snack of local cuisine. On Wednesday afternoon, Kosovare Aslanni, Sabrina Delannoy, Léa Declercq, Kheira Hamraoui, and Fatmire Alushi enjoyed a sightseeing tour through the alleyways of Souq Waqif, Doha's traditional bazaar, to take in the smells and sounds as well as to see traditional handicrafts. They also visited a falcon shop and tasted some local dishes. At the same time, Karima Benameur, Marie-Laure Delie, Laure Georges, Annike Krahn, Katarzyna Kiedrzynek, and Gouthia Karchouni took a dhow cruise along Doha Bay, delighting in the superb skyline from their traditional boat. At the sunset, the players also learned the art of fishing - not that successful! A digital contest with prizes for the best tweeters of the Qatar Ladies Tour To spice up their tourist outings, the players went head to head… on social networks, in a digital contest! The players were divided into four groups based on their activities and asked to tweet and post photos of their activities, including their team's hashtag: #QatarLadiesGreen, #QatarLadiesPink, #QatarLadiesRed or #QatarLadiesBlue. And the winner are the ladies from #QatarLadiesPink. The team, made up of Karima Benameur, Marie-Laure Delie, Laure Georges, Annike Krahn, Katarzyna Kiedrzynek and Gouthia Karchouni was the best performing, with many photos and tweets posted all throughout the Qatar Ladies Tour. © Qatar Tourism Authority Through its association with Paris Saint-Germain, Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) hosts annual visits for training sessions of teams from the French capital's sporting club: Qatar Winter Tour for the men’s football team; Qatar Handball Tour for men’s handball team; as well as the Qatar Ladies Tour for the women’s football team.
