Art 2 Photo is a high school level visual arts course that will empower students to explore
realities, relationships, and ideas through the use of digital photography and photo
manipulation.
Prerequisite: All Art 2 Photo students must have earned a passing grade in Art 1.
What you can Expect from this class: I will teach you a ton of information. You can be
prepared to take notes, keep a photographic diary (journal), photograph images, digitally
manipulate them in Photoshop, print them, present them, and participate in written and
verbal class critiques. Photography has an abundance of technical aspects, which I will
expect you to know and apply once I teach you.
What I Expect from you: The following are non-negotiable items required to participate in
this class.
1. You must have daily access to a digital camera, and the ability to transfer those photos
to a computer. And you must bring it to class daily.
2. You must have the ability to print 3-5 photos (8 X10) at Wal-Mart, Walgreens, CVS,
photo prints from home, etc. every semester.
3. You must have commitment to the class. This class will require up to 3 hours a week of
(out of class shooting assignments.) THE MORE YOU SHOOT, THE BETTER YOU GET!
4. You must display integrity in multiple areas.
A. The photos you turn in must be your original photos.
B. There will be times I will have to trust you outside of the classroom, on photo
shoots. You must obey all school rules, and not disrupt the learning environment of
others. You will not be given a second chance, one infraction will result in more
work for you, as you will no longer be allowed out of class for photos shoots, and all
of your class assignments will then have to be completed on your own time, or
under my direct supervision.
5. Your parent must also sign the responsible for payment form if you have permission to
check out a camera in the case you loose or misplace your camera on a given photo
shoot day.
To remain enrolled in this class you and your guardian must sign below acknowledging that
you will adhere to the above-mentioned expectations.

All photo shoot assignments will be uploaded to Google Classroom, for you to retrieve at any
time. So, you will always know the due date. I will know if you submit the project late, as
google classroom will mark it late. If you have an absence that caused it to be late, please
type that into the title page of the ppt, to ensure no late points are taken off. If you fail to mark
the title slide, and I deduct points for it being late, I will not change the grade. So be sure to
mark late- absent on the title slide. I will then check the absence and make sure your
correct.
Camera Responsibility Form
It is a requirement of the class that each student have their own digital camera to participate
in this class. I understand that life happens, phones crack, or are taken away as a
consequence of teenage behaviors, etc. If that happens your student will still need access to
a camera for class. I can provide a camera for emergencies, if you would like. The other
alternative is that all in class assignments then become homework to be done under parent
supervision.
BHS has 2 cameras available for loan, in case of emergency for our Photography students.
The cost to replace the cameras is $200.00 If you would like your student to have access to
these cameras at any time they can check them out. If the camera is checked out and not
returned you will assume the cost of the camera’s replacement.
Please check one of the boxes below and sign and date this form.
My child has permission to check out a school camera upon request. I will assume
the replacement cost of $200.00, if my child looses or doesn’t return the checked out
camera.
Do not let my child check out a camera. I do not want to be held accountable for the
replacement cost.
