CHOOSE OHIO FIRST SCHOLARSHIP
Fall 2017
Lorain County Community College and the University Partnership are pleased to announce the
opportunity for full and partial tuition scholarships for students enrolled in a STEM* (Science,
Technology, Engineering, Math) major through LCCC or the UP.
Applications received by June 1, 2017 will receive full consideration. Applications received after the deadline will
be
reviewed and awarded on a funds available basis. Partial scholarships may be awarded. Selection is based on the
completed scholarship application and academic performance. Scholarship finalists may be invited to personally
interview with the LCCC CHOOSE OHIO FIRST Selection Committee. Decisions of the Selection Committee will
be final.
Scholarship Criteria:



3.0 high cumulative high school or college GPA. Transcripts must be on file with the LCCC Records Office or
accompany the
application.
All Ohio residents are eligible.
Declared STEM major* through LCCC in a two year degree program or the University Partnership. Register for
minimum 8 hours.
Additional Scholarship Qualifications:
LCCC Choose Ohio First is a last dollar tuition support scholarship which means other funds earmarked for tuition only will be used instead of or before the LCCC Choose Ohio First Scholarship.
 Students may not receive the LCCC Choose Ohio First Scholarship and the Trustee Scholarship concurrently.
 Recipients may be required to participate in peer tutoring and/or on-line learning communities.
 Scholarships may be renewable based on funding availability and the student making sufficient progress toward
degree completion .
 Students are required to participate in program surveys, interviews or other data collection activities required by
LCCC and the Ohio
Board of Regents

*All students must update their official LCCC record to indicate a major in a STEM field.
