Dear Parents and Carers,
In the Foundation Stage we have many different areas of learning, ranging from reading, writing and maths
to being imaginative and personal, social and emotional development. An area of constant struggle has
always been ‘technology’ as the resources we have in school are limited.
Over the next term we will be having a focus on celebrating technology – from i-pads and computers to
turning on c.d. players and changing the channel on the television remote. In school we will be encouraging
children to take their own photos using digital cameras, use remote control toys and become more
independent in using the computers. These photos, observations and works of art will be displayed on the
boards outside the classrooms (Apart from in Little Oaks where they will be displayed in the classroom) –
this is where you can help.
If you see your child using technology at home, bring in a photo or take a technology themed note from
home to write your observation and add to the board. For the children in Reception, there will be blue tack
outside the classroom so you can find a space and add it yourself or you can email us. In Nursery you can
bring your observations to your child’s class teacher or also email it…

We can print any notes/photos and put them on the wall to celebrate their achievements.
We hope that as you come to collect your child at the end of the day you will be able to see the celebration
of technology developing and we are sure your children will love to show you the photos that they have
taken themselves.
