Hydration Guidelines
HYDRATION IS VERY IMPORTANT!
Ensure you drink plenty of water, all day, every day. Your urine should be pale to
clear in colour except for your first urination of the day.
As a general guideline, you should be drinking:
2 Litres per day + 1 extra Litre for every hour of exercise
On training and game days you will be required to weigh yourself before and
after session, at half time and after the game. There will be a weight sheet next
to the scales which you MUST fill out.
Game/Training Procedure
Start drinking water as soon as you wake. Continue to drink plenty of water
leading up to the game.
o Urinate ~10 mins before the game
o Weigh yourself AFTER urinating and record your weight on the weight
sheet
o Weigh yourself at full time (after urinating if desired) and record your
weight on the weight sheet
For every kg you lose you must consume 1L of water. If you lose more than 1kg
you must consume a mixture of water and sports drink.
For example: Pre = 80kg, Post = 78kg
Consume 1L Water & 1L Sports Drink
