Orlando,FL(May1,2017)–TwoBohlinCywinskiJacksonprojectswererecognizedattheAmericanInstituteofArchitects’
annualConferenceonArchitectureduringanHonors&Awardscelebration.TheLosAltosResidence,locatedinLosAltos,CA,
andtheStellarResidencesandTownhousesatMountainsideNorthstar,locatedinTruckee,CA,werebothhonoredfor
exceptionaldesign.
TheAIA’sHousingAwardsprogram,nowinits17thyear,wasestablishedtorecognizethebestinresidentialarchitectureand
topromotetheimportanceofgoodhousingasanecessityoflife.Thisyear,14projectswerehonoredinfourcategories,
includingOne/TwoFamilyCustomHousing,One/TwoFamilyProductionHousing,MultifamilyHousingandSpecialHousing.
TheLosAltosResidence,honoredintheOne/TwoFamilyCustomResidencescategory,isamodernistreinterpretationofthe
NorthernCaliforniaranch.Nestledamongstneighboringhousesandalandscapeofmaturetrees,theresidencemaintainsa
senseofprivacyandoffersreprievefromthehecticpaceofdailyactivities.Thehome’smainvolumeiscomposedofadoubleheightlivingspaceandkitchen,whichrunsparalleltothestreetandconnectstwosingle-storyvolumes,eachcontaininga
varietyofprivateandfunctionalspaces.Withviewsfromeveryroom,one’seyeiseasilydrawnoutside,wherealinearpool
