Xerox WorkCentre 7775 Printing from the Mac 1. General Remarks Setting up the Macs to print to the Gates Xerox 7775 copy machines is about like any other printer setup – Download the driver from the company, do the install, and then designate the printer on the net. The only special step is getting the regular copying account number loaded into the install (it is also recommended that one check that the hardware features of the machine are properly represented). 2. Get Driver Go to //www.xerox.com > support and drivers > select WorkCentre 7775 > used the “with built‐in controller” option. Currently the driver: Mac OSX Universal Binary Print Driver 10.7 works with 10.5, 10.6, and 10.7. : http://www.support.xerox.com/support/enus.html. 3. Normal install procedure Execute the install – if their search for the available Xerox printers is not successful a click on the window will print up a request for the NetDB host name. Note that these Gates machines have the word “Xerox” followed by the room number as their “internal” printer name. 4. Check Copier’s Hardware Options Listed. Go to Apple System Prefs > Printer and Fax. Select the printer, and via Options and Supplies > Driver ensure that you have: LAN fax No, 5 Trays, Advanced Office Finisher, 2‐3 hole punch, Post processor=No, Job storage =No. 5. Set Copying Account Number To set up the Account number – bring up Word and select Print. Select your Xerox printer and in the pull‐down line below the Presets line and select Xerox Features ‐ choose Advanced and then Accounting. Accounting Style is “Xerox Standard Accounting or Auditon”. Accounting prompt is “Do not prompt”, Default User ID should be set to your Gates copy code, Default Account Type is “Default Group Account”. Default account ID is left blank. Then OK. 6. Save Settings Now ‐ go to Presets in the current window and pull down to Save‐As and enter something like Xerox1A Accounting to Save these accounting parameters. This is an important last step. Your ready to print.
