Running Queries -Vision
This presentation describes how to run Miquest queries on the
Vision system. You should have already downloaded created them
from the spreadsheet. The query files can either be on a floppy
disc placed into the server’s A: drive or a mapped location (eg
C:/Temp) accessible to the Vision Miquest software
Using the network to copy the queries to the server saves time and
the hassle of physically having to access the machine.
Loading to QP
Choose the IMPORT tab on the
MIQUEST window. Locate the
folder that you downloaded the
Miquest queries from the website
to (e.g. C:/Temp/ or A:) in the left
hand column. Once a folder is
selected, the files should appear
in the middle column. Once you
have found the files you want,
click on one of the files in the
middle column and click
<ctrl><A> at the same time, to select them all. Press the IMPORT
button at the bottom of the column. A small window will pop up
when the Importing is complete

files should appear here and be highlighted.
Right click on one of the files and choose “Run Now” (there is an
option on “Run later” if you want to set a time) A progress window

MIQUEST window whilst the queries are running.
Once completed the files will disappear from this section
Getting Results - Vision
The rest of this presentation describes how to download the output
from the queries that you have run on the Vision system. Once
queries have run, files that contain the result data you are after
called Response files are created. These need to be authorised and
copied to either a blank floppy disc placed into the server’s A: drive
or the mapped directory (eg C:\Temp\ ) on your terminal. The files
created have the same name as the queries you ran except that
the file extension changes from .HQL to .CSV. They can be loaded
into spreadsheets for analysis.
Using the network to copy the queries from the server to your PC
terminal saves time and the hassle of physically having to access
the machine. It means you can run and analyse queries without
having to leave your desk!
Getting Results – Vision

handling (LOCAL)
