Scorekeeper’s, Timekeeper’s and Shot Clock Operator’s names are to be printed on the bottom of the Score Sheet in the two SCOREKEEPER boxes (fit the 3 names in the two boxes provided). 3. On the bottom section of the Stats Sheet (GOALTENDING STATISTICS), enter the jersey number of the starting goalie and backup (sub) goalie of each team in the SAVES, TIME PLAYED and GOALS ALLOWED sections. 4. Watch for Time-Outs and Goalie Changes – they need to be recorded in the GAME NOTES section of the Score Sheet. As well, the time to the nearest minute must be tracked and entered on the Stats Sheet for each goalie (i.e. if the starting goalie is replaced at the 11:00 mark of the second period, 20 minutes must be recorded for the 1st period and 9 minutes for the 2nd period in the TIME PLAYED section and if the backup goalie finishes the game, the 11 minutes in the 2nd period, the 20 minutes played in the 3rd period and the actual time played in overtime gets recorded. 5. If a mistake is made anywhere, simply cross it out and write beside – DO NOT TRY TO CORRECT BY WRITING OVER. 6. When a goal is scored: a) Immediately enter the time on the scoreboard in the TIME column of the Stats Sheet on the appropriate team side. b) Once you get from the Referee the jersey number of the goal scorer, enter it in the SC column, and enter the jersey number(s) of those who assisted on the goal in the ASSISTS column. c) Check in the PP column if the goal was scored on the power play or in the SH column if the goal was scored short-handed. d) Transfer the goal scorer and assists to the Score Sheet when you have a moment by placing a mark beside the name of the goal scorer in the appropriate PERIODS number column and a mark next to the name(s) of player(s) who assisted in the Assists column (all periods covered in this column). e) Continue down the Stat Sheet for each additional goal scored for each team. 7. When a penalty is called: a) Penalties are entered on the Score Sheet from the first line down under the PENALTIES section for each team (not beside the player’s name). b) Immediately enter the time on the scoreboard in the Off column and period in the Per column on the appropriate team side. c) Once you get from the Referee the jersey number of the penalized player, enter it in the No. column, enter the duration of the penalty in the Min column, and enter the infraction in the Offence column. d) When the player is released from the penalty box (i.e. served the duration of the penalty or the Referee releases the player after the opposing team scores a power play goal), enter the time on the scoreboard in the On column. Page 2 of 5 8. When the Referee signals a shot on goal (raises hand, calls “SHOT”): This is a save by the goalie (including goalposts hit) - either mark them down the side of the Stats Sheet or on a separate piece of paper and ensure the Timekeeper registers the save on the scoreboard. Keep each period and each goalie separate. Goals scored, unlike hockey, ARE NOT shots on goal. 9. At the end of each period: a) Total the number of goals scored in the period column in the GOALS FOR line for each team. If there was a goalie change during the period, divide the box into two diagonally with the goals scored on the starter in the top half and on the substitute goalie in the bottom half. Enter the same totals in the GOALS ALLOWED sections on the Stats Sheet for each team and goalie. b) Total the number of saves made in the period column in the STOPS BY line for each team. If there was a goalie change during the period, divide the box into two diagonally with the saves made by the starter in the top half and by the substitute goalie in the bottom half. Enter the same totals in the SAVES sections on the Stats Sheet for each team and goalie. Reconcile the saves at the end of each period with the Timekeeper to ensure the correct totals are shown on the scoreboard. c) In the centre section of the Score Sheet, register the number of saves made by the starting goalie “S” and backup “B” goalie under the appropriate period for under HOME STOPS and VISITOR STOPS. These must match the figures entered on the Stats Sheet. 10. At the end of the game: a) On the Stats Sheet, total the SAVES, TIME PLAYED and GOALS ALLOWED for each goalie. b) On the Score Sheet, complete the GAME SUMMARY by totaling the GOALS, ASSISTS, STOPS and PENALTY MINUTES and give to the Referees to review and enter their names. c) Winning team receives top 3 copies of the Score Sheet, losing team receives bottom copy of Score Sheet (goldenrod colour) and bottom copy of Stats Sheet. d) IF THERE IS TO BE A REFEREE’S REPORT, ASK THE REFEREES NOT TO TAKE THE ENTIRE SCORE SHEET. THE LEAGUE REQUIRES THE WHITE COPY TO BE FORWARDED BY THE WINNING TEAM TO THE LEAGUE COMMISSIONER AND STATISTICIAN. IF THE REFEREES INSIST ON TAKING A WHITE COPY, ADVISE THE COACH OF THE WINNING TEAM FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTION BEFORE DOING ANYTHING FURTHER.
